New Fallout 3 Interview

Eurogamer have just put up a fascinating three-page interview with Bethesda, who are currently working on the hotly anticipated next title in the Fallout series:

Fallout 3 Interview

Fallout 3

To say this interview will be closely scrutinized by the rabid pack of Fallout fans over at No Mutants Allowed is an understatement. To date there has been very little news about the game, and this interview confirms something that the diehards have long feared: a) it’s first person; b) it’s a game in the “fallout legacy”, rather than a direct sequel.

Unlike the naysayers, though, I’m actually looking forward to Fallout 3. Bethesda are no fools, and they’ve got some very talented ex-Looking Glass Studios people on board, like Emil Pagliarulo, who worked on the Thief games. Nailing the atmosphere will be the toughest challenge – but the interview makes clear that the team have immersed themselves in a wealth of classic post-apocalyptic material, including the first two Fallouts.

There’s still no release date, of course, but classics take time. Here’s hoping…
